Message From The Chairman

A student can chart his own path forward. His success is not bounded by the remoteness of his school, nor the humble finances of his parents, but only by the clarity of his dreams.

These are some of the lessons I have learned from the years that I chaired the Outstanding Students Circle of Iloilo (OSCI), which was entrusted with the annual search for the Ten Outstanding Elementary Pupils and the Ten Outstanding Secondary School Students of Iloilo.

Our awardees come from schools of varying economic and educational standards. All are believers of honest toil, perseverance and dedication. They have excelled not only in the academics, but also in community and inter-school activities, strengthening the notion that co- and extra-curricular activities must be regarded as mainstream classroom strategies.

We, OSCI members, were also awardees of the same distinction in the past. Therefore, we know the feeling of a student who receives an award he worked hard for and he truly deserved. As such, we continued this annual activity as a legacy from the past. We hope that, after us, our present awardees will carry on with this legacy and be a beacon for future students to perform better and achieve more.

Congratulations to this year’s awardees. Welcome to the Outstanding Students Circle of Iloilo.

HENRY BUERON CASPE
Chairman, OSCI
