Congratulations to the Ten Outstanding Elementary School Pupils and the Ten Outstanding Secondary School Students of Iloilo for SY 2008-2009.

I am glad that for this school year, ten outstanding elementary pupils and ten outstanding secondary students from the province of Iloilo, City of Iloilo, and Passi City were chosen and honored in a simple awards ceremony. Indeed, these students deserve such recognition considering their exceptional academic achievement, outstanding leadership qualities, personal integrity, and service.

Through the quality of leadership that you exhibit, you have distinguished yourselves among other students as you contribute to the enhancement of student life in the school campus.

Indeed, you serve as inspiration to your fellow students and a source of pride for your school, family and friends.

I commend the Outstanding Students Circle of Iloilo (OSCI) for spearheading this search for outstanding students in Iloilo. Your efforts continue to inspire the youth to pursue academic excellence and student leadership.

The concept of education focuses on the objectives anchored on the belief that the nation could be developed by producing quality graduates in as many disciplines as it possibly can. Graduates who can surpass the crises of the country, and who can emerge as winners despite the challenging economy. Thus, the Search for the Most Outstanding Students was born.

I salute the organizers of the yearly quest for versatile students, your efforts had taken education to greater heights. Continue in motivating our youth to be their best selves and in paying recognition to their accomplishments.

To the parents and teachers of the awardees, I convey my sincerest felicitation in molding our children to become competitive individuals.

Kudos to the awardees! Your journey towards excellence never stops when you receive your award. This is the dawn of a new era of perseverance and diligence. Keep going! However, aside from being intelligent, our county needs youth who are imbued with desirable virtues and sound values. We hope that we produced citizens who are honest and God-fearing for this is what our country needs to progress and to be known again.
